Over the past few weeks, there have been multiple rumors about the next iPhone. Apple’s next iPhone is either the SE 2 or the iPhone 9.  Sources tell RespawnFirst that Apple is announcing its next iPhone in less than 3 hours. We weren’t able to get a confirmation on the exact model, iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9, but whatever it is, it’s happening today.

The SE 2 or iPhone 9 has been rumored for months at this point. Specs and design of the phone have already leaked online.

The phone was expected to launch late last month but due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, the event was canceled by the company. Now, sources confirm RespawnFirst that Apple is ready to pull the trigger on the announcement for SE 2.

The name of the phone is something we haven’t been able to confirm so far. If we look at previous reports, some say it is the iPhone SE 2 while others lean toward Apple iPhone 9. It would be odd to push iPhone 9 out the door after the launch of X and 11 but hey, it’s Apple.

Let’s call it the iPhone SE 2; in terms of specs, the phone is powered by A13 Bionic chipset, the same one used in iPhone 11 Series. Reports say it comes with 3GB RAM and storage space of 64/128GB; so we are looking at two different models. Users will get a 4.7 inch-LCD display, and a single front and rear camera. This will be Apple’s budget iPhone to get people in the door and experience Apple’s eco-system. Reportedly, it starts at $399 USD and will release on April 22.

Update: Insider Ben Geskin just tweeted to tease the announcement as well. This is not a drill folks, it’s happening!

Update 2: Apple has announced the iPhone SE 2020. It looks like the iPhone 8 but the hardware inside is better. The phone starts at $399.
