How To Defeat Huntress Boss In God Of War: Ragnarok

Once Kratos and Atreus are reunited they come across the Huntress. This is the first boss that Kratos and Atreus fight together. In this God of War: Ragnarok guide, we cover how you can defeat Huntress.

Beating Huntress In God Of War: Ragnarok

Huntress uses a bow and has different arrow attacks that she can use. One of these attacks involves shooting a line of arrows at the floor. These are going to explode and will damage you if you are too close. When you see sparks on the floor dodge or move away from the area to avoid taking damage.

Huntress can also fire a single arrow at you which does fire damage. You need to dodge this. The weak point of the boss is her glowing horns. When you see these glow, throw your Leviathan Axe at them to stagger the boss. This will allow you to safely get some hits in and deal some damage. Time this right and you can prevent her from using an unblockable attack prompted with a red circle.

Huntress is an agile boss and can quickly get away from you if you move too close. That is why we recommend using the Blades of Chaos and Atreus to attack her and only use the axe to hit her weak point.

Depending on the difficulty option that you selected, you will find some health that you can pick up. If your rage meter is full then you can activate Spartan Rage and deal damage to the boss in order to gain health back. Spartan Rage can also come in handy if you miss the red or yellow prompts. When activated it will knock back Huntress and keep you from receiving damage.

Once the health of the boss is depleted, you need to press the prompted buttons in order to defeat her. She will drop a couple of important resources including the first Frozen Flame which allows you to upgrade the Leviathan Axe.

This is how you can defeat Huntress in God of War: Ragnarok. If you are interested in learning more then you can check out our guide on how you can beat the Dreki. For more content, check out our God of War: Ragnarok guides hub.

How to Transmog Armor in God of War: Ragnarok

It is a universally accepted fact that fashion is the endgame. Be it SoulsBorne, Destiny, or God of War, if your fashion-game is not up to the mark, you are doing something wrong. For the uninitiated, Transmog allows you to retain the look of an armor set with the stats of another — no longer do you need to don an ugly armor set just because it has good stats. For instance, if like the stats of the Nidavellir Armor but prefer the looks of Raven Tears, I can simply copy the appearance of Raven Tears onto the Nidavellir Set without losing any stats. In this guide, we will walk you through all the steps needed to transmog any armor set in God of War: Ragnarok.

In order to Transmog in God of War: Ragnarok, you need to open up the menu and go to ‘Armor’ section. Once there, choose any piece of armor and select ‘Edit Appearance’. This will open up a new menu where you will be presented with a complete list of available armor sets. Now all that you need to do is to select the one that you like (appearance-wise) to get its look. There is a little catch, however. You cannot Transmog an armor piece until it is at Level 9 which is Max Level.

And since it requires a lot of Hacksilver as well as a bunch of other resources to get an armor set to Level 9, it will quite a while before you are able to Transmog your favorite armor. But once you have done that, you will be able to change the look of each armor piece individually to become the ultimate fashion icon across all the Nine Realms.

This is how you can easily Transmog Armor in God of War: Ragnarok. For more tips and strategies, you can check out our detailed God of War: Ragnarok wiki page.

God Of War: Ragnarok Gets Perfect Score In Leaked Review

God of War: Ragnarok comes out in a few days and while the review embargo isn’t lifting until a few hours, a leaked review revealed a perfect 5/5 score which is good news for the upcoming game.

Leaked God Of War Ragnarok Review Scores The Game 5/5

The perfect score review of God of War: Ragnarok has been leaked by Jeuxvideo, one of the Metacritic review websites. The publication has 2,499 reviews on Metacritic and gave God of War 2018 a perfect score as well (20/20).

The meta description is in another language but there is nothing interesting there, it is just some general information about the game being developed by Santa Monica Studio and how it is the follow-up to the 2018 reboot. What is interesting is that the publication scores games out of 20 and google is giving it a 5-star rating. I would imagine that this is a translation so 5/5 would translate to 20/20.

This is no doubt good news for the upcoming game and we expected nothing less from Santa Monica. If you were on the fence regarding the game and were waiting for reviews to come out then it seems that God of War: Ragnarok is going to be highly recommended and you can pick it up at launch.

If you are interested in learning more about the game then you can check out our article on why the sun and moon are still in the game trailer. Why Are The Sun And Moon Still In The God Of War Ragnarok Trailer?

In the new God of War Ragnarok story trailer, we see that the sun and moon are actually still. Atreus then shoots an arrow, and the sun starts to move again, and the wolf starts chasing it. You must be wondering why there is an eclipse. This article will cover why the sun and moon are still in the God of War Ragnarok story trailer.

Note: While the article is based on theories, they might be accurate enough to spoil the story of God of War Ragnarok. If you want to enjoy the game and head into the story blind, then you should not read further.

Eclipse In God Of War Ragnarok

From what we know, the sun and moon in the God of War Ragnarok story trailer are not moving due to temporal magic. Mimir talks about this in God of 2018 and mentions the following:

My guess, temporal magic. Dangerous stuff the high Vanir gods used to play around with – the ability to freeze time. Happened to be a favorite of Njord himself in fact.

When Atreus asks Mimir why they stopped using temporal magic, he responds by saying:

Well.. turns out stopping time keeps the sun and moon from streaking across the sky. Unfortunately, it does stop the wolves that chase them. Always looking to sink their teeth in.

Ragnarok starts when the wolves catch the sun and moon, and Kratos might be trying to keep them in place so that the wolves can catch them. The scene in the trailer could be just for marketing or related to time travel since, according to the lore, Odin has already unleashed the wolves to chase the sun and moon.

This is what we know about the sun and moon from the new God of War Ragnarok story trailer. Who Is Kratos Saving In The God Of War Ragnarok Trailer?

It has been a couple of days since the story trailer for God of War Ragnarok was released, and I am sure that anyone interested in the game has seen it by now. During the trailer, we see Kratos carrying someone on his back and running in a rush. This article will cover how Kratos is trying to save in the God of War Ragnarok story trailer.

Note: While the article is based on theories, they might be accurate enough to spoil the story of God of War Ragnarok. If you want to enjoy the game and head into the story blind, then you should not read further.

Who Is Kratos Carrying In The Trailer?

Theories suggest that the man Kratos is carrying in the trailer is none other than Freyr, Freya’s brother. He is a Vanir God and the uncle of Baldur. According to Norse mythology, he is associated with sacral kingship, virility, prosperity, sunshine, and fair weather. Freyr is also known to fall in love with a female giant, whom he later marries.

There is evidence to support these claims. Notice that as Kratos carries him, Freyr does not have his sword. While he could have dropped it or it might have been stolen, Freyr’s sword has the ability to fight on its own. So it is possible that while Kratos is running off trying to save Freyr, the sword is covering both of them and protecting them from harm.

As Kratos is carrying Freyr during the trailer, we also see elves in different shots. They seem to be helping Kratos. Freyr is the ruler of the elves, both light and dark. So it makes sense that the elves are coming forward to help their lord escape.

Why Is Kratos Saving Freyr?

It goes without saying that Kratos is not saving Freyr out of the kindness in his heart. There needs to be a reason why. Freyr has to offer something that Kratos needs. During the trailer, we see that the sun and moon are in an eclipse and are not moving. It might be possible that Kratos needs Freyr for temporal magic.

This might seem like a leap, but Mimir mentions the following in God of War 2018:

While this is all very interesting and might make sense, know that this is just a theory, and while we have connected plenty of dots, this might not be true at all.

Let us know what you think about this God Of War Ragnarok trailer theory and whether or not you think that the person Kratos is saving is indeed Freyr. Thor Actor On Thor’s Human Side In God Of War Ragnarok

God of War Ragnarok is just a few weeks away, and fans are most excited about the game. Ryan Hurst, the actor who plays Thor in God of War Ragnarok, talked about his portrayal of the character and how he tried to bring his “human” side into the light. He also mentions Thor’s daughter and wife.

Ryan Hurst talked about how thor is a big guy and how he is not just a god, but there is a human side to him as well. He mentioned that players will investigate relationships with Thor’s father, wife, and daughter during the game. This could be similar to what we saw with Baldur in God of War 2018.

Ryan Hurst also mentioned that Santa Monica has gone old school regarding the Norse mythology the game is based around. Players will see a side of Thot that is not typical, like him being a drunk and trying to quit drinking. His take on this will be of a god trying to be as human as possible.

From this information, we can speculate that Thor will have a major role in the game, even if that does not amount to much screen time. We can also speculate that we will fight him more than once, similar to the fights with Baldur in God of War 2018.

According to Norse mythology, Thor’s wife is called Sif, who is known as “a prophetess called Sibyl, though we know her as Sif.” Sif is further described as “the loveliest of women” with hair of gold. Which makes you think about how you ended up with Thor. This could be an arranged marriage, but there is nothing that we know for sure about their relationship.

Thor’s daughter Thrud is the goddess of power, trees, flowers, and grass. Her name means strength in Old Norse. This also happens to be the name of one of the valkyries who serve ale to the einherjar in Valhalla. How Santa Monica Studios approaches the character will be very interesting.

Let us know what you think about Thor in God of War Ragnarok and whether or not you are interested in playing the game.

Who Is The Valkyrie Hirst From The God Of War Ragnarok Trailer?

The new God of War Ragnarok trailer revealed during State of Play gave us an idea of what the story is going to offer players and we got to see some new characters. The trailer includes Odin, Thor, and two valkyries, one of whom is called Hirst. In this article, we are going to go over everything we know about the valkyrie God Of War Ragnarok from the new God of War Ragnarok trailer.

God Of War Ragnarok Valkyrie Hirst

In God of War 2018, the Valkyries are optional bosses that you can beat. These are very challenging bosses and once you have defeated all of them, you can take on the Valkyrie queen. While there is no mention of the Valkyrie Hirst in norse mythology, we do know a little bit about Hrist, which might be the inspiration behind the character.

From the new trailer, we know for sure that Hirst is indeed one of the Valkyries and there is another Valkyrie with her that takes on Kratos and Atreus. So we might be facing off against two Valkyries at the same time. Hrist is related to hrista which means shake or quake. So Hrist would mean the shaking one or the quaking one. Hrist is supposed to be immortal and can only be killed with a specifically powerful weapon or person. That should be where Kratos comes in.

You can take on 9 valkyries in God of War 2018 but the Norse mythology mentions 39 of them so there is no surprise that we see 2 more now. While we do not know who the other valkyrie in the trailer is, Hrist is mentioned together with the valkyrie Mist in Grímnismál 40-41. So the other valkyrie that we see in the trailer could be Mist.

Since we do get to defeat the Valkyrie queen Sigrun, in God of War 2018, it will be interesting to see what kind of role these new valkyries play in God of War Ragnarok. They could be part of the main story or they could be additional bosses that players can beat if they are up for the challenge.

Let us know what you think about these new valkyries in the God of War Ragnarok trailer and whether or not you are interested in playing the game.

The Bald Old Man In The New God Of War Ragnarok Trailer Is Odin

The new God Of War Ragnarok trailer revealed during the new State of Play live stream was amazing. It gives us much to be excited about and revealed some new characters that players are going to encounter on their journey. The bald old man we see Atreus open the door for in the new God Of War Ragnarok trailer looks like Odin.

Odin In The New God Of War Ragnarok Trailer

While the Odin we see in the trailer is a little more than just a silhouette, he does have some dialogues in the trailer as well that tell us that he has a bigger role in God Of War Ragnarok as compared to the previous game. The appearance also aligns with the previous leaks that suggested that Odin disguises himself as an old man with one eye when he is wandering through Midgard.

Santa Monic is not going with the MCU looks for Thor and Odin that some of us are used to but the character models are more aligned with Norse mythology. After Tyr’s dialogue in the new trailer, you might notice the change in voice and you will notice that it is the voice of Richard Schiff who played the All-Father Odin in Ragnarok. Odin says the following in the trailer:

You don’t really want war, do you Kratos? All that blood on your hands… On your son’s hands… What do you even know of godhood? In your lifetimes, has anyone ever worshipped you? Ever prayed to you? Can you even imagine that kind of love? No!

You don’t care about anything beyond yourself… Beyond the monster that kills without cause.

While we do not know much about the character and the exact storyline, I can deduce that Odin does not say these lines when Atreus opens the door. These lines are from a different scene entirely.

I think that the scene we saw during which Atreus opens the door for Odin in disguise is from an early part of the game where Odin pays Kratos and Atreus a visit. He might be trying to trick them since he does not need to go see them personally to see what they are up to. Odin does see everything that goes on even though he might have a single eye. In case you missed it, you can check out the trailer below:

Let us know if you think this is Odin that we see in the trailer and whether or not you are excited about playing God Of War Ragnarok. I for one am ready!

God of War: Ragnarok Adds Enemy Variety, Weapon Elemental Infusion And Multiple Shields

God of War: Ragnarok is around the corner and we now have more information regarding how the new game is going to be different compared to GoW 2018. The new game is going to add more enemy variety, weapon infusion, and multiple shields. Here is what you need to know.

New God of War: Ragnarok Details – Weapons, Enemies, And Shields

God of War: Ragnarok pushes combat further according to Lead combat designers Mihir Sheth and Denny Yeh. Combat has been changed this time around to make things better. Weapon Signature Moves have been added to the game and can be pulled off by pressing the Triangle button on the PS controller. The move will depend on whether you are using the Leviathan Axe or Blades of Chaos. Sheth mentioned the following regarding the Signature Moves:

In the last game, if you pressed Triangle, you recalled the axe but if you already had the axe, nothing happened. If you had the Blades of Chaos and you pressed Triangle, you just went back to the axe. We looked at that concept and wondered, ‘What if you could do something a little bit different with that button – a whole new suite of moves.

Weapon Signature Moves allow Kratos to infuse his weapons with ice or fire. These elemental moves are called Frost Awaken and Whiplash and can do additional damage by freezing enemies or setting them on fire.

God of War: Ragnarok also adds different shields. The Dauntless shield is ideal for parrying and glows red signaling that Kratos can do a smash that stuns enemies. The Stonewall Shield is for tankier builds that like slower combat. Players will not be able to parry with the Stonewall Shield. Keeping it up and blocking attacks fill up a kinetic energy meter as the shield absorbs blows. Once the meter is full Kratos can smash the shield into the ground creating a wave that knocks back enemies.

These are just two options and players can expect to see more once the game is out later this year.

The combat designers also mentioned that at higher difficulties enemies are more challenging compared to the previous game. The game also has side content with optional areas and enemies to beat if players are up to the challenge.
